Oski Bear’s Pro Skater 3+4

Hello stranger reading this! I am a Millennial, and as a proud Millennial, I like it when entertainment things from my childhold are remastered and resold to me when I have sufficient funds to purchase them with my hard earned dollars, including the recently announced remaster of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4. Why am I out here shilling for a video game on a Cal Fan Blog? Well dear reader…

DID YOU KNOW THAT THE FIRST LEVEL OF THE ABSOLUTELY PERFECT TONY HAWK’S PRO SKATER 4 TAKES PLACE ON OUR LOVELY CAMPUS? Roll the tape please…

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 4 in all its beautiful polygonal glory, featuring Sather Gate and the California Theater from the College level.

“But Ben, that could be any gate and ANY movie theater!” Let us continue.

The Cesar Chavez Student Center and Sproul Hall from the College level of THPS 4.

“Well…that’s just a neoclassical columned building next to a modernist building! That could be any campus!” I’m not done.

Preparing to skitch the professor’s car from the Telegraph-Channing Parking Garage looking towards Sather Gate and the Campanile.

“Okay yeah. I see what you mean now.” Thank you.

It’ll be cool to explore campus again via skateboard, something that if I attempted now would result in 247 broken bones. Looking forward to the game July 11. Get a look at the newly remastered Sather Gate (what have they done…) and Campanile here.

Big Give

As a Cal Band alum may I recommend throwing a few buckaroos to Cal Band. Or if you enjoyed watching Cal Ice Hockey streams, maybe throw them a few pucks (the joke is that pucks rhyme with bucks!) Or! Golden Bear Honors

• Acacia Anders (Softball) was named ACC Player of the Week

• Aidan Li (Men’s Gymnastics) and Antonia Galland (Rowing) earned the Weaver James-Corrigan Swofford Award and a postgraduate scholarship from the ACC

• Women’s Gymnastics was crowned the ACC Regular Season Champs!

• Giavonna Meeks broke the weight throw meet record and earned Cal Track and Field its first ACC Championship medal!

• Jason Plumb earned bronze in the Long Jump taking home his second conference medal

• David Foster got Cal’s first ACC Men’s Title with a 60m time of 6.56 seconds. He ran faster than it took me to type this sentence.

• Tyler Burns earned bronze in the Pole Vault taking his second career conference medal

• David Foster, Giavonna Meeks, Tyler Burns, Jason Plumb were named to the All-ACC First Team. Asjah Atkinson, Victor Ezike Jr., Trevor Rogers, Valentina Savva, Aysha Shaheed, Johnny Goode, Riley Knott, Seth Johnson, and Lucija Leko was named to the Second Team

• Cal Women’s Basketball set a Program Record with 16 Home Wins

• Mya Lauzon was named ACC Gymnast of the Week, a thing I have now typed in 5 separate weeks

• Mya Wiley was named the ACC Newcomer of the Week

• Ionna Krimili was named to the All-ACC Second Team for Women’s Basketball

• Cal Baseball beat Cal State Bakersfield went 1-3 over the week against Santa Clara (3-5, 2-4, 19-3, 0-9)
