There is all this talk of trading for Crochet. Personally I don't want to give up top prospects (Williams, Gilbert, Sproat in particular). I would rather just buy guys in free agency like last year and let these guys develop.

Agreed. I love Pete, but he should have taken the 7yr/160mm-ish last summer before he hired Boris. Checking in on Adames is prudent business especially with the Stearns connection. A backup plans are always good.

Soto will get an offer. I dont know that they will give Alonso more than a 5 year offer. I would rather then give higher AAV shorter term deals and not lock themselves into aging player.

@CaptainVideo I totally agree, my comments were prior to the fake news about an offer to him. I do think he is an all around better more athletic player than Alonso. I dont see Stearns giving out many long term deals.
