Betts still waylaid by illness; Freeman returns to field

After Mookie Betts and Freddie Freeman missed the Dodgers’ season-opening games in Tokyo, both were in the original lineup for Sunday evening’s Freeway Series exhibition, a 7-1 win against the Angels at Dodger Stadium.

Betts (stomach illness) returns to action for exhibition
Mookie Betts returned to action on Tuesday for the Dodgers’ spring finale at Angel Stadium after battling a stomach illness that had kept him out of the lineup since March 9. Betts ended up playing five innings at shortstop and going 0-for-3 in three at-bats.
