2023 MLS Regular Season: Philadelphia Union 4-1 Inter Miami
Episode Description
Inter Miami just made history — of the unwanted variety.
A shorthanded Inter Miami suffered a seventh consecutive defeat on Saturday night after being pummeled, 4-1, by the Philadelphia Union at Subaru Park in Chester, Pennsylvania. The lopsided result set a new franchise record for consecutive losses while also leaving La Rosanegra in last place in the Eastern Conference with a 5-0-13 record.
Making matters worse for Inter Miami is that left wingback Franco Negri was forced out of the game with a knee injury in the first half, which ended 3-0 in the Union’s favor after goals from Jakob Glesnes, Julian Carranza, and Leon Flach.
Javier Morales’ men, which got a consolation goal from Robert Taylor, next return home to face Austin FC at Drv Pnk Stadium in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on July 1.
