[Bleacher Nation] - Blackhawks Development Camp Is Back on the Ice This Summer

For the first time in years, you’re going to be able to watch the Blackhawks’ prospects actually skate. The team announced in a Monday morning press release that their Development Camp will return to the ice. After three straight summers of an off-ice-only Development Camp (the team moved workouts off the ice and stuck with that format through the Bedard, Levshunov, and Frondell draft classes), the 2026 edition brings the on-ice sessions back. And for fans who’ve spent those summers reading about Lego-building challenges, boat tours, and beach volleyball tournaments instead of watching prospects play hockey, that’s a welcome change. Even better: the on-ice work is open to the public. The Hawks will hold on-ice sessions over three days — Tuesday, June 30; Wednesday, July 1; and Thursday, July 2 — with two skates each day. Team 1 takes the ice at 10 a.m. CT, followed by Team 2 at 11:45 a.m. The Tuesday and Thursday sessions are at Blackhawks Ice Center (1801 W Jackson Blvd), with Wednesday’s skates running next door at Fifth Third Arena. Blackhawks Fifth Third Arena – Tab Bamford, Bleacher Nation Blackhawks Development Camp Is Back on the Ice This Summer That’s six chances to get a live look at the next wave of the rebuild, including whoever Chicago lands with its top-five pick in the 2026 NHL Draft the weekend prior. The off-ice format had clear logic. Let players rest and take the performance pressure off prospects with management watching from the stands, and the team-building emphasis genuinely seemed to pay off in how tight the recent draft classes became. But there’s no substitute for watching kids actually play the game, both for the player development staff evaluating where everyone stands and for fans imagining the future. Camp officially opens Monday, June 29, and runs through Thursday, July 2. We’ll have plenty more on the new draft class once they’re in the building, but if you want to see them on the ice yourself, now you can. The NHL Draft: June 26–27 The Blackhawks , which means the 2026 Draft carries real weight for a rebuild that’s still adding cornerstone pieces. The next wave is about to get names attached, and Chicago just laid out exactly when we’ll start meeting them. The team announced its media availability schedules for the 2026 NHL Draft and the Development Camp that follows, both packed into one week. Draft picks, prospects, coaches, and the front office are all coming through the Blackhawks Ice Center and Fifth Third Arena. Round 1 goes Friday, June 26, with the Hawks set up at Blackhawks Ice Center (1801 W Jackson Blvd) starting at 6 p.m. CT. Rounds 2 through 7 follow Saturday, June 27, kicking off at 10 a.m. CT from the same spot.

[Bleacher Nation] - Post-Tkachuk Trade Buzz, Seattle Signs McMann, Oilers Sign Dickinson, and Other Blackhawks Bullets

It’s only Monday of draft week and the 2026 NHL Draft board is getting a lot of cosmetic work done. On Sunday, the Florida Panthers made a couple trades that saw two first-round picks change hands. When the dust settled, the Ottawa Senators now own three picks in the first round (Nos. 9, 25 and 32 overall). And Brady Tkachuk is playing with his brother, Matthew, in Florida. Brady Tkachuk is a Florida Panther.— Florida Panthers (@FlaPanthers) If you want to wrap the entire trade action on Sunday from Florida: the Panthers , the No. 9 pick this year, a (top-ten protected) first in 2029 and a second-round pick in 2030 for Brady Tkachuk and a second-round pick in 2027. Tidy business. Bruce Garrioch that “The expectation is that the Sens will try to use some of these first-round picks to get a top-six forward in return.” And David Pagnotta at The Fourth Period added this to the fire: Things are very fluid, and there’s plenty of time for Dallas to explore its options, but sources say Ottawa is making a big push for Jason Robertson. If a trade cannot be ironed out and he hits July 1 as an RFA, the Senators could present him with a significant offer sheet. — David Pagnotta (@TheFourthPeriod) I saw a couple reports that Robertson’s camp is thinking in the $14M per range on his next contract. So… file that away if/when you consider an offer sheet or trade there. A thought: if Ottawa is going to re-tool (rebuild?), I would make a call on . The 28-year-old forward is and scored 33 goals last year. If Ottawa is hoarding draft picks… the Blackhawks have plenty. If they’re looking for young players with more cost control, the Blackhawks have prospects. And Batherson does not have any trade protection on his contract. A lot of conversation on social media about the Blackhawks getting into trades like this, and those who consistently take issue with the front office saying players “don’t want to come to Chicago.” Not yet. But if our exclusive focus on the trade market is on guys who have no-move or no-trade clauses like Brady Tkachuk — who have been given the ability to choose their location — there will always be frustration. There are guys like Batherson (and Mason McTavish for that matter) who, if available, could be acquired without that being an issue. Ben Pope took a look at what might be on deck for the Blackhawks in the coming couple weeks. Connor Bedard's contract is the Blackhawks' top offseason priority. But a big trade (or free agent) addition would certainly be welcomed. New story on what to expect from the Hawks as the NHL offseason enters its two busiest weeks: — Ben Pope (@BenPopeCST) The New York Rangers signed backup goaltender Dylan Garand to a two-year contract extension. After acquiring Samoskevich from the Panthers, the Seattle Kraken to a six-year extension. Chris Johnston first reported the deal has a $5.75M cap hit. Finally, former Blackhawks center Jason Dickinson made enough of an impression during his brief time in Edmonton after the trade deadline to get a five-year contract from the Oilers on Sunday. And it’s a Stan Bowman Special: Dickinson for the first three years and a 16-team no-trade list for the final two. Happy Father’s Day, indeed! BIG JASON ENERGY The have signed forward Jason Dickinson to a five-year contract with an AAV of $4.0 million. — Edmonton Oilers (@EdmontonOilers) BLEACHER NATION: | Subscribe to the
