BIG 10 SQUAD: The NCAA Tournament is EXPANDING | How this affects Maryland

College football playoff chaos looms as postseason expansion rumors ignite fierce debate. Could the Big Ten secure eight playoff spots in a future super-sized format? The Big 10 Squad tackles the growing influence of money on NCAA tournament and College Football Playoff changes, questioning whether tradition or TV contracts will shape the future of Big Ten powerhouses like Michigan State, Penn State, and USC. The crew breaks down Michigan State’s outlook under Pat Fitzgerald, with FanDuel setting a three-and-a-half win total. Can quarterback Alessio Milivojevic and the Spartans shock critics with a stronger season? Plus, hot dog eating contests and schedule traps add intrigue to a season already rich with drama. With insiders debating expansion fatigue, scheduling quirks, and long-term survival for non-revenue sports, this heated roundtable asks: Where is college football heading, and who will rise or fall when change arrives?

Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company.
Could Maryland basketball's biggest recruiting score come AFTER portal season?

After an extended hiatus, IMS Radio is back and it didn’t take long for the conversation to hit full speed!

Jeff Ermann, Paul Douglas and Tony Wheeler reconvene to break down a whirlwind stretch for Maryland basketball, where roster movement has dominated the headlines. Transfers in, transfers out, reshaping the identity of the program—it’s been nonstop, and the group dug into what it all means for Buzz Williams’ first full offseason at the helm.

But the biggest news could be yet to come, as Jeff revealed his big scoop on Thursday at InsideMDSports.com. It would be a major recruiting win, the kind that shifts expectations and adds real intrigue to the Terps' roster’s long-term ceiling.

Beyond basketball, the episode also delivers insight from the football side, including what we're hearing from spring camp. There’s growing optimism about the team’s trajectory, with key pieces developing.

IMS Radio’s return sets the stage for a busy, pivotal stretch across both programs.

Big Ten faces backlash as 24-team College Football Playoff proposal stirs controversy—will expanding the playoff ruin the regular season’s intensity? The Big 10 Squad tackles the heated debate, weighing tradition against big-money incentives. Are classic rivalries and crucial games losing meaning in the quest for more playoff spots, or can college football thrive with a larger field? The squad shifts focus to Purdue Boilermakers' bleak outlook, with brutal honesty about Barry Odom’s second-year prospects and Ryan Browne’s struggles under center. Is three and a half wins realistic in a daunting schedule, or has the program hit rock bottom?
The Terps suffered a tough loss to Johns Hopkins in The Rivalry last weekend, so having two All-Americans in George Stamos and Will Schaller visit the pod was much needed. George and Will talked about the paths to college lacrosse and Maryland in particular.

BIG 10 SQUAD: The Big 10's Latest SCANDAL | How this impacts Maryland

NCAA sanctions shake up Iowa Hawkeyes football as eight wins are vacated for tampering with quarterback Cade McNamara—was it worth the fallout? The Locked On Big Ten Squad debates whether the NCAA's focus is misplaced, questioning the penalty’s impact, and suggesting the NCAA targets smaller programs while avoiding powerhouses. Lively banter covers Kirk Ferentz’s legacy, Iowa’s ongoing quarterback development woes, and frustrations with inconsistent NCAA enforcement. Wisconsin Badgers face chaos after the sudden departure of athletic director Chris McIntosh, leaving major leadership gaps ahead of the new season. The Big 10 Squad weighs in on Wisconsin’s struggles to adapt in the NIL era and whether Luke Fickell’s job is on the line. The episode also spotlights shifting approaches to spring games, with limited action from stars like Michigan’s Bryce Underwood and Penn State scrapping their scrimmage entirely.

Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company.
IMS Radio – Be The Best Podcast – Season 1, Episode 8

The Terps bounced back in a big way against Michigan last weekend, and the Be The Best Podcast carried the good vibes forward. The guys welcomed Terrapin alum Joe Cummings to the show to talk about his time in College Park and the work he does as a teacher and coach at the Memphis University School in Tennessee.

Joe hung around to recap the Maryland win over Michigan, as well as previewing next week’s crucial matchup against Ohio State.

Joe and the guys briefly talked about Penn State’s big win over Ohio State, Rutgers’ massive win over Johns Hopkins in heartbreaking fashion for the Jays, and Virginia’s win over former national number one Notre Dame.

We ended the podcast with some picks for next weekend – Penn State travelling to Johns Hopkins, Syracuse travelling to North Carolina, and new national number one Richmond facing off at a neutral site in Chicago against Notre Dame.

Best the Best Pod: Maryland lacrosse on the ropes after PSU loss (Guest: Matt Rambo)

IMS Radio – Be The Best Podcast – Season 1, Episode 7

Coming off a letdown loss at Penn State last weekend, the Be The Best Podcast needed a boost. Enter this week’s guest and Maryland lacrosse legend, Matt Rambo. The multiyear All-American who left Maryland as the program’s all-time scoring leader and was part of the team that ended Maryland’s four-decade National Championship drought in 2017. Matt also won the Tewaaraton Award for the nation’s best player, the first Terp to win that award.

Matt has played professionally in the outdoor game for 10 years and played indoor for his hometown Philadelphia Wings for several years. Matt stayed on with us as we went through some national picks for the week ahead.

After Matt left, we discussed last week’s 10-6 loss at Penn State and where that loss leaves the Terps. We finally previewed ahead to this week’s game at Michigan, who has a four-game winning streak against the Terps.
