RAYS POSTCAST: The Tampa Bay Rays GET DESTROYED by the Detroit Tigers

The Rays lose again to the Tigers, this time 8-0. It was another disastrous start for the Rays. Rays pitcher Steven Matz allowed 2 runs in the 1st inning then 3 in the 2nd and it was 5-0 just like that. Matz only managed to go 1.1 IP allowing those 5 runs. The Tigers would not be done there, they would add 2 more in the 6th and 1 in the 7th to make it 8-0. The Rays had their chances to get back in the game. They had runners in scoring position in the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th innings but could not come up with the big hits. The Rays have now lost back to back games to the AL worst Tigers and will need a big bounce back tomorrow to salvage a game in the series.

The Rays pick up a tough 10-9 loss to the Tigers. The Rays got off to a horrid start. Rays starter Griffin Jax gave up 2 runs in the 1st then 4 in the 3rd. In that 3rd inning the Tigers hit Back to Back to Back homers to make it 6-0. The Rays would get 2 back in the 4th inning off a 2 run Junior Caminero homer which made it 6-2. But the Tigers would get those 2 runs back in the 5th and the 6th with a solo homer in each inning which made it 8-2. The Rays would not go away. Ryan Vilade hit a monster 3 run homer in the 6th which made it 8-5. But once again the Tigers had an answer. They added 2 runs in the 8th to make it 10-5. But the Rays once again would not go away. They would add 4 runs in the bottom of the 8th highlighted by a 2 RBI single by Ben Williamson to make it 10-9. But the Comeback would fall short there as the Rays could not get that final run. The Rays will look to bounce back tomorrow night vs the Tigers.

The Rays knock off the Angels 5-2 to win the series. The Rays for the 3rd straight game got a homer in the first inning. This time it was off the bat of Jonathan Aranda who launched a homer to make it 1-0. The Angels would get that run back in the 2nd to tie the game at 1. But the Rays would add 2 runs in the 3rd inning highlighted by a RBI single by Victor Mesa Jr which made the game 3-1. The score would remain the same until the 7th inning when the Angels hit a solo homer to bring the game to 3-2. But the Rays got some much needed insurance in the bottom of the 7th. Ben Williamson lined a RBI single to make it 4-2. Then Yandy Diaz drew a bases loaded walk to give the Rays all the runs they needed. Shane McClanahan started for the Rays and was great again. He went 5 IP only allowing 1 run as he picked up another win. The Rays will look to continue their winning ways tomorrow night vs the Tigers.

The Rays drop the middle game of the series 14-3 to the Angels. It was a disaster from the start for the Rays. Drew Rasmussen, who has been fantastic this season, stumbled out of the gate. He gave up a Grand Slam in the first inning to give the Angels a 4-0 lead. Yandy Diaz hit a lead off homer for the 2nd straight game which made it 4-1. But the Rays stranded the bases loaded in the first to keep the score 4-1. That was one of two times during the game where the Rays left the bases loaded. The Angels would add 2 more runs in the 4th and the 5th to make it 6-1. But the Rays would make it a game again in the bottom of the 5th with a RBI double by Junior Caminero which was part of a 2 run inning that made it 6-3. The Rays would load the bases in the 6th inning but could not come through as the Angels added another run in the 7th to make it 7-3. They would then add salt in the wound putting up a 7 spot in the 9th to make it 14-3. The Rays will look to bounce back and take the series tomorrow afternoon vs the Angels.

The Rays offense would sputter for a majority of the game until the 7th inning. After the Angels tacked on 2 runs to make the score 2-1 the Rays would blow the game open. It started with a Yandy Diaz 2 run homer to make it 3-2. Then Jonathan Aranda hit a solo shot to make it 4-2. Richie Palacious laced a 2 RBI triple to cap off a 7 run 7th inning and made the score 8-2. The Angels would add a few runs in the 8th but it was little to late. Nick Martinez started for the Rays and continued his stellar season. He went 7 IP only giving up 2 runs and striking out 5. The Rays will look to take the series tomorrow afternoon versus the Angels.

After they could not cash in with bases loaded in the 3rd inning, the Orioles would add more runs. They added 1 in the bottom of the 3rd then another 2 in the 5th to make it 8-0. The Rays added 1 run in the 5th put the Orioles added their last 3 runs in the 6th and 7th to get all their 11 runs. This is the longest losing streak of the Rays season. They will look to get back on track Friday night vs the Angels.

The Rays lose their 3rd straight game, losing to the Orioles 6-1. The Rays got off to a quick start. Jonathan Aranda lined a RBI single in the 1st inning to give the Rays a 1-0 lead. It was all down hill from their. The Orioles added 3 runs in the 2nd helped by Rays errors. The game remained 3-1 until the 5th when the Orioles belted a 3 run homer that made it 3-1. The Rays offense had multiple chances to get the game close and could not come up with the big hit. This game did mark the debut for pitcher Craig Kimbrel for the Rays. He performed well striking out 2 in his lone inning of work. The Rays have now lost 3 games in a row for the first time since April 19-21. They will look for a big bounce back tomorrow night.

The Rays lose a marathon game to the Orioles 9-7. You would not be able to tell by the score but this was a pitchers duel for the first 7 innings of the game. The lone run came in the 6th inning off a Jonathan Aranda homer that made it 1-0. The Orioles added 2 runs in the 7th backed by the Rays sloppy play to make it 2-1. Richie Palacious came up with another big hit in the top of the 8th to tie the game at 2. The game would go into extras with neither team scoring in the 10th inning. Then in the 11th Victor Mesa launched a 2 run homer to take a 4-2 lead. The Rays pitching and defense would give that lead right back in the bottom of the 11 to tie it at 4. Each team would add a run in the 12th which made it 5-5. The Rays would add 2 runs in the 13th to make it 7-5 but the pitching would finally give out. The Orioles would put up 4 runs in the bottom of the inning highlighted by a walk off 2 run homer to win the game. The Rays will look to bounce back tomorrow night.

The best chance the offense had to score was in the top of the 8th inning. Ryan Vilade hit what should have been a go ahead RBI single. But bad base running by Junior Caminero ruined that chance. Drew Rasmussen put together one of the best starts of his career. He went 7 IP for the first time in 3 years did not allow any runs and struck out 6 batters. The game remained a 0-0 tie until the 9th inning when Aaron Judge would hit the 2 run walk off homer. The Rays will look to bounce back tomorrow afternoon vs Baltimore.

RAYS POSTCAST: The Tampa Bay Rays COMEBACK AGAIN to beat the New York Yankees

The Rays continue to win, beating the Yankees 4-2. The Rays offense showed no life for the first 7 innings. Yankees starter Garrit Cole pitched 6 scoreless innings in his season debut. But the Bats would come alive in the 8th inning. After Simpson reached on an error and Junior singled the Rays had 1st and 3rd no one out. That is when the AL RBI leader came up and laced a RBI double to make it 1-1. Richie Palacious then hit a 2 run single up the middle to make it 3-1. Ryan Vilade hit a sac fly for the final run of the inning and made it 4-2. Nick Martinez started for the Rays and was stellar again. He went 6 IP only allowing 1 run and kept the Rays in the game. Ian Seymour came in after and pitched a big 1.2 IP before Kevin Kelly and Bryan Baker would shut it down. The Rays have won 9 straight series openers and will look for their 9th straight series win tomorrow afternoon.
