The Rays drop the series opener to the Angels 4-3. The Angels jumped all over the Rays early. They put up 2 runs in the 1st inning and immediately made the game 2-0. In the 3rd inning the Angels would put 2 more runs up to make the game 4-0. The Rays answered back in the 5th inning. They had all the makings of a big inning with the bases loaded and 0 outs. They would cash in on a Jonathan Aranda 2 RBI single to make it 4-2. The Rays would get a run back in the 9th to make it 4-3 and have the bases loaded with 2 outs to try and tie the game. But Cedric Mullins struck out to end the game. Shane McClahanan started for the Rays and struggled for the first time in a while. He only went 4 IP giving up 8 hits and 4 runs. He still managed to strike out 7 batters in the loss. The Rays will look to bounce back again tomorrow night.

The Rays complete the sweep of the Red Sox, winning 7-5. The Rays got the scoring started in the 3rd inning. Taylor Walls helped manufacture a run after hitting a sac fly that scored Nick Fortes. The Rays really broke the game open in the 5th inning. It started with a RBI infield single by Yandy Diaz to make it 2-0. Then Austin Slater hit a RBI double to make it 3-0. Ryan Vilade caped off the scoring in the inning with a Sac Fly that made it 4-0. The Rays got an extra run in the 6th with a Yandy Diaz RBI single to make it 5-0. The Red Sox started their comeback in the 8th inning. They put up 4 runs in the inning to make it 5-4. But Cedric Mullins would give the Rays some much needed insurance in the 8th. He destroyed a 2 run homer to give the Rays some more breathing room at 7-4. The Sox got another run back in the 9th, but it was to little to late after that. Drew Rasmussen started for the Rays and was fantastic. He went 7 IP striking out 13 hitters and not allowing any runs. The Rays have an off day tomorrow, then they head to California to take on the Angels.

RAYS POSTCAST: The Tampa Bay Rays FEND OFF the Boston Red Sox

The Rays hang on to beat the Red Sox 4-3. The Rays found themselves down 1-0 after the Red Sox scored the first run of the game in the 3rd inning. The Rays would respond with a massive 3 run 4th inning to take the lead. The scoring started for the Rays with a 2 out RBI single by Cedric Mullins. That was followed up by Ben Williamson smoking a double to make it 2-1. Nick Fortes capped off the inning with another RBI double that made it 3-1. The Rays picked up an insurance run in the 6th on a Richie Palacious RBI single to make it 4-1. The Red Sox cut the lead to 4-3 in the 8th. But some clutch pitching by Kevin Kelly and Bryan Baker held the lead for the Rays. Nick Martinez started for the Rays and was awesome for the first 7 innings. In those first 7 innings he allowed just 1 run. He did allow 2 in the 8th but it was still an efficient start. The Rays will look to go for the sweep tomorrow afternoon.

The Rays lose the final game of the series to the Marlins 4-1. It was yet another pitching duel for the first 5 innings. Rays starter Griffin Jax enjoyed a nice bounce back start. He threw 5 scoreless innings striking out 4 batters along the way. The Rays got their only run of the day off a RBI single by Yandy Diaz in the 3rd inning to make it 1-0. The Rays started to fall apart in the 6th inning. After a walk the Marlins added a RBI triple then a sac fly to take the lead. The Rays defense would let them down in the 7th inning where an error allowed 2 more Marlins runs to score to make it 4-1. The Rays offense could not make up any real threat after that as the Rays lose back to back series for the first time since April. The Rays will look to bounce back tomorrow night against the Red Sox

RAYS POSTCAST: The Tampa Bay Rays SLIP UP vs the Miami Marlins

The Rays lose the middle game of the series to the Marlins 4-3. No team was able to put up runs for the first 4 innings as Rays starter Shane McClanahan was in a grove to start. He finally had a slip up when he allowed a solo homer in the 5th inning to make it 1-0. That is when things started to slip for the Rays The Marlins would add another run in the 5th then 2 more in the 6th to make it 4-0. The Rays had a great chance in the 5th inning to cut into the lead but they came up short. They would get on the board in the 8th inning on a Yandy Diaz RBI double to make it 4-1. After that double the Rays would have runners on 2nd and 3rd with no one out and the Rays could not capitalize. The Rays would come 1 run short in the 9th. After a RBI single by Yandy Diaz and Ben Williamson scoring on a passed ball the Rays would make it 4-3. The Rays would have bases loaded in the top of the 9th with 2 outs after it became 4-3 and could not come through. The Rays will look to take the series win tomorrow afternoon.

The Rays beat up on the Marlins, beating them 6-0. The Rays were led by one of the best starts of Drew Rasmussens career. He went 7 IP only allowing 1 hit and striking out 9. The Rays got off to a fast start in the 1st inning. Richie Palacious ripped a RBI triple to give the Rays a 2-0 lead. Ryan Vilade followed that up with a RBI single to make it 3-0. The Rays kept adding on in the 5th with a RBI single by Jonathan Aranda to make it 4-0. Cedric Mullins continued his strong play belting a solo homer to make it 5-0. Ryan Vilade added the last run for the Rays in the 7th with another RBI single to make it 6-0. Rays pitching only allowed 3 base runners as they fueled the Rays big bounce back win. The Rays will look to take the series tomorrow afternoon vs the Marlins.
