  • He was not. Thurman wasn’t eligible this year. His era (1970-87, Modern Baseball) is next up for consideration in 2023 for 2024 induction.
Thurman Munson again gets snubbed. Had he not tragically passed at 32 he would be a slam dunk HOFer. In his 11 seasons, ROY, MVP, 2X WSC, 7X All-Star, 3X GG, .357 career postseason BA, threw out 44% of baserunners, & Yankees Captain. • The Golden Days Era Committee will next consider candidates again in 2026. How about then for Dick Allen?

  • Allen appeared in more games, made more All-Star Games (and won his MVP) in the 70s than he did in the 60s. Shouldn't he also be allowed to be considered in the Modern Baseball Era (1970-87) in addition to the Golden Days (1950-69)?
Sadly for those who have worked so hard for Dick Allen, these players won’t be considered again for election for another 5 years. So Allen missed by one vote in the 2014 election, had to wait another 8 years when the election schedule changed and now has another endless wait.

  • Great day for the Baseball Hall of Fame: Gil Hodges, Jim Kaat, Minnie Minoso and Tony Oliva have been elected via the Golden Days Era ballot and Bud Fowler and Buck O'Neil went in on the Early Baseball Era ballot. Hopefully, Dick Allen gets in when he's up his next time.
