  • The short-lived mystery may be solved
@willmcfadden Going to guess it has to do with quickness of drop back. One major adjustment Matt told me he made from 2015 to 16 was quickly dropping back (with back to the defense), then quickly turning back around. He struggled with that in 2015.

  • RT @willmcfadden: This may just be nothing (but it definitely could be something). Justin Fields has his right leg back at the Pro Day, but he played with his left leg back in college. https://t.co/PDjEJaXAzT https://t.co/1JJPHHZguL

  • RT @willmcfadden: I just went back and looked at some film, and Matt Ryan played with his right foot forward until the 2015 season - when Kyle Shanahan arrived in Atlanta. From then on, Matt Ryan has had his right foot back. https://t.co/BY8Hj7lXYy

  • I probably just triggered a bunch of flag-football QBs lol

  • Any actual QB experts out there have explanations for the significance here? (Please, no "I played flag football QB" experts) First thought for me is RPO positioning for a right handed QB, but no idea past that.

  • RT @falcfans: Billy White Shoes Johnson, Deion Sanders, Devin Hester and Cordarrelle Patterson rolling thru Atlanta at some point in their careers is incredible.

  • RT @CoryWoodroof47: @TheFalcoholic I'm guessing Arthur Smith was pretty aware of what Rowland could do since they were working in the same stadium in Nashville, so I think he'll definitely get a chance.

  • It's hard to know with a new staff in place, but worth noting that Rowland was a productive punt returner in college. Patterson has returned one regular season punt in his entire career, so there's still a need for that role
@TheFalcoholic I love this signing, but are we ever gonna give Chris Rowland a chance? or is he just gonna be another casualty of Dimitroff Draft™?

  • Has ties to Dave Ragone, Charles London, and an indirect one to new ST coordinator Marquice Williams, who saw him twice a year when he was with the Lions. Patterson averaged about 40 yards per return against Detroit last year, which...may have made an impression

  • Patterson is coming off a 2020 season where he was 2nd in the NFL in yards per kick return. He's tied for the career lead in KR touchdowns and has one in each of the past three seasons. He also was a useful role player at RB and WR for the Bears in 2020. Not much to dislike here
