  • Metcalf's 84-yard TD was the 3rd longest passing TD in Seahawks history. The longest? That famous Seneca Wallace to Koren Robinson connection. 90 yards in 2008 against the Eagles.

  • Anyway let's get to fun stuff. Did you know that DK Metcalf is on pace to crack top-10 all-time in franchise history for receiving yards this season? He's at 2,740 right now. 10th is Sam McCallum at 3,409. He also might be able to surpass Koren Robinson, who's at 3,567.

  • @dannyoneil Forget Geno for a moment. Picture how this team with a perfectly healthy Wilson looked up until about the 3rd quarter of the 49ers game. Not very convincing, was it?

  • Exactly. If Wilson was healthy they'd probably be 4-3. Maybe 5-2. But many of the same issues persist and ultimately, and I think @dannyoneil said this a few seasons back, Pete Carroll coaches like he still has the team he used to have, not the team that he actually has now.
@FieldGulls To sum up the point being missed: a better record != a better team, correct? This was a very flawed team last year and sure, we might have won these last 2 games with Russ, but it wouldn't make us more prepared for a deep playoff run this year.

  • RT @JacsonBevens: "We can appreciate Pete as the most important coach in this city’s history w/o shackling ourselves to him in perpetuity. Success requires evolution & nothing indicates SEA’s evolving at the pace necessary to compete for Super Bowls." Cigar Thoughts are up https://t.co/eyFEDpXWLC https://t.co/DQQq1POi1b

  • I think the point is being missed. The 2021 team looks a lot like last year's team in many respects, sans the red-hot start on offense. Last year's team was both 12-4 and clearly miles off from the elite of the NFL. If Wilson is healthy, hard not to think it's a similar ending.
@FieldGulls Your point is valid, but none of those guys were Russell Wilson. In a year when 4 of the first 6 games were lost in the last two minutes.

  • Hmm... Last year the team lost Blair and Irvin by Week 2. Adams and Griffin missed time. Dunbar was a Day 1 starter and out by November. Mayowa was hurt. Carson was hurt. Pocic was hurt. Shell was hurt. All missed multiple games.
@FieldGulls Key injuries this year are the mirage, obviously.

  • With 2021 looking lost, it’s time to re-examine whether the 2020 Seahawks were a mirage https://t.co/qvYGkJEWBS

  • Not a single run outside of the tackles. If they wanted to stick with the run then fine. They could've done more jet sweeps, toss plays, even one read-option with Geno. We got 1-3 yards and a cloud of dust. I said the Seahawks needed to diversify how they run and they haven't.
I just think of a sequence like this (obviously the sneak is fine). Maybe I’m just higher on Seattle’s skill guys than Pete is but this just felt like an odd series of decisions against that particular Saints defense, when you have the skill guys you do on your roster https://t.co/0WJkhLZmMm
