Wow, looks like the Flyers repurposed the "Foles" clap chant, which of course was created by Eagles fans on January 21 of this year and was never thought of before that.
if you're curious what made that Sanheim goal a Gentleman's Backhander, make sure to listen to this week's @Flyperbole https://t.co/qYc5jRt92M
Flyers do a lot right in the first eight or so minutes of the game, then Sanheim gets hurt and they have a bad shift and give up a goal. For the most part, quick changes like that have snowballed on them real quickly. Let's, ah, see how that goes.
Tangentially-related corollary to this: people who say things like "I'd be OK if my team was losing FUN games" are also mostly lying to themselves. When the Flyers lose 6-5, we don't say "that was fun!", we complain about goalies and defense and AMac. Fun losses don't exist.
The biggest lie fans tell themselves is that they would be OK if tons of prospects were called up & they were making mistakes & losing, as opposed to vets. No, in that scenario most would just decide some of the kids are actually bad, or just blame everything on the vets left.
