  • RT @ShamsCharania: Luol Deng has retired from basketball after 15 NBA seasons and signed a contract to retire as a Chicago Bull. The two-time All-Star spent his first nine-plus seasons in Chicago and then played for Miami, Lakers and Minnesota.

  • Under the context of future tax consequences, but they are not limited in any way from paying Buddy, Fox, and Bagley in the future... its simply a tax question. You can always keep your own guys.
@stevekylerNBA They also have other extensions to think about. Fox next yr and Bagley in 2021

  • I haven't really looked... I was told all measures on team sites were supposed to be official measures going forward.
@stevekylerNBA did the Orlando Magic release the official heights of every player?

  • Actually, they do... players have to pay local "jock" taxes in most of the cities they play. In some cases, they pay a city tax and even a state tax depending on the arena. They also have to pay a percentage to their agents and typically business managers.
@stevekylerNBA Oh my bad. Their taxes must go elsewhere.

  • No... never said IRS, I said taxes and FEES...
@stevekylerNBA You mentioned how 46% of an NBA salary goes to the IRS. Why mention it if it's not really part of the comment?

  • The number of players that got more the next year when offered less than max as a rookie extension far outweighs the guys that pass and get less. Especially guys trending upwards.
@stevekylerNBA Betting on yourself hasn’t always worked out. Look at Nerlens Noel, how’d that work out? Or Cousins turning down the pelicans. It’s a business. But because its sports and its entertainment , all the sudden athletes should compromise and just be happy with whatever offer? GTFOH !

  • And Buddy specifically is going out of his way to profess how much he wants to stay in Sacramento... but this is a business where if one team won't pay, another usually will, because talent is hard to obtain.
@stevekylerNBA Don’t blame the players. Blame the fans and consumers. I hate when athletes make a business decision, since it is a business, and people criticize and scrutinize them for asking what they feel their worth is. YOU should maximize your worth REGARDLESS of where you work?

  • Not really the comment, but OK.
@stevekylerNBA Poor kid for having to pay taxes. How dare the IRS.
