North Carolina 2023 Football Recruiting Evals: (LB) Lewis Carter, (OT)...
Episode Description
A group of 2023 recruits came to Chapel Hill on May 20 for official visits with coach Mack Brown and the Tar Heels. John Garcia, Jr. joined Isaac Schade last week to discuss three of those, the duo talks about the other three today. First though, the conversation turns to whether a coach would rather be a recruit's first or last official visit. What is John's answer? Tune in to find out.
First up is 4-start LB Lewis Carter from Tampa, FL. Carter is a 4-star prospect who plays multiple positions on both sides of the ball for his high school team. Carter's skill set would fit well with Gene Chizik's scheme and plan.
Moving to the other side of the ball, the other two recruits to be discussed are both offensive linemen - (OT) Oluwatosin Babalade and (OL) Layth Ghannam. Babalade is a massive human being, coming in at 6'5" and just shy of 300 pounds. He is a student at legendary DeMatha Catholic in Maryland. His recruiting net is national as he looks at schools all over the country.
Ghannam (Charleston, WV), on the other hand, is a lesser-known lineman. His recruiting has been more regional, schools like West Virginia, Virginia Tech, and Ohio State join North Carolina. One thing to keep an eye on is that Ghannam visited Ohio State on Wednesday and immediately posted to his Twitter that his recruiting was closed down and that he'd be releasing his top 4 soon.
