For those trying out FPL for the first time, GOAL advise players to keep in mind the following ranges when tracking their scores:

“FPL gurus and seasoned managers generally agree that averaging 50-59 points every gameweek is the bare minimum target. A gameweek score between 60-75 points is considered good, and between 76-99 points are excellent. 100 points or more is an outstanding achievement that falls into winner's bracket.

“Using the gameweek's average score as a benchmark is potentially a more effective method since it changes automatically each week and makes it easier to track your progress. By attaining the gameweek's average points throughout the season, you will at least be in the top half by the end of the season.”

You’ll see weekly updates on the Liverpool players bringing in the most points on average, plus the BIG hitters from the other fixtures across the Premier League (watch out for Erling Haaland, Mo Salah and Kostas Tsimikas this week!).

🎖️ A much better gameweek for all after the horrors of Gameweek 11… some big points scores in the top ten, though none big enough to topple Mark O’Rourke!

🥇 819 points - ISimplyAmNotThere FC (Mark O’Rourke)

Damn you Kostas Tsimikas! Damn you!

🥈 805 points - Livin’ Lavia Loco (Dominic Bourn)

Oleksandr Zinchenko is a bold shout! Overlooked in comparison to Saliba and White perhaps?

🥉 797 points - Tikki takka (Ashley Noble)

Darwin Nunez had two goals disallowed against Brentford… just think of the points return he was denied!

⏲️The long-term view⏲️

  • IN? Cole Palmer (£5.2m): Gameweek 16-24 sees Chelsea go on an incredible run of 8/9 green fixtures on the FDR. Whilst you shouldn't gamble on Palmer solely for being the Blues’ penalty-taker, an upturn in form for Mauricio Pochettino’s men and the rise of the former Man City midfielder could have FPL players turning to the 21-year-old as a potential enabler/cheap points-getter.

  • OUT? Ollie Watkins (£8.4m): It’s a relatively tricky run of game for Watkins up until Gameweek 18 - at which point you might be best advised restoring him to the side in light of Manchester City’s fixture blank.

  • IN? Bryan Mbeumo (£6.8m): Mbeumo has made quite the splash on FPL once again! If you can overlook a tough meeting with Arsenal in Gameweek 13, Brentford have an eye-catching run from Gameweek 14-22. Well worth the punt in our view!

  • OUT? Heung-min Son (£9.7m): Selling the third-highest scoring FPL star this season - a player previously considered fixture-proof - might be considered the height of insanity. With Spurs suffering a raft of injuries, however, and being set to navigate a relatively tricky set of games, perhaps now might be the time for a bold move. Those of us who have sold Haaland could find a way to bring the Norwegian back into the side by parting ways with an expensive asset like Son. The choice is yours!
