The officiating was awful tonight. So, so bad. I thought there were some lolbad calls on either side of this one. But Dallas had their chances, including a 4 on 3 in overtime! Special teams are cruel like that. Avs can attest to that.
Stars got away with a blatant penalty near the end of regulation, then had a PP early in OT. Don't put this one on the refs.
Tampa Bay and Dallas each had a shootout win in the round robin. Those are being counted in the stats as OT wins, but they didn't actually win those games in OT.
Not counting round-robin (one game for each team): Tampa Bay is 5-1 in OT in the playoffs. Dallas is 4-0 in OT.
Cough -- look over here -- cough. Link to story about Pavelski's place among U.S-born playoff goal scorers. https://t.co/6vuj65u6LJ
Both goals this period were scored by throwing puck to the net. Not necessarily best scoring chance, but getting the puck to the net is often the best play in the playoffs instead of passing up shot for a better scoring chance.
Goal credited to Pavelski, his second of night and 12th of playoffs. Also 60th playoff goal of career ties him for most among U.S.-born players with Joe Mullen.
Pavelski shot went off Vasilevskiy and appeared to go in off Shattenkirk in front with 8:25 left. Seguin was also in front.
