This article is absolutely soul crushing. The NCAA says it’s about athlete welfare. This story, and so many others like it, show that to be a lie. Read this...it’s important. All of this for a phone jack...really? https://t.co/rxJjwT6gaI
One thing which likely leads to amped-up departures from a freshman is the fact they never had a normal first season on or off the court with COVID protocols. It is just different and we see little more than fanless games not what they went through.
This is really disconcerting. Emmert is waiting for Congress to act on NIL? That’s the NCAA’s job, and “hope” is not policy. No athlete has ever been allowed to meet with the Board of Governors? Well, isn’t is past time to remedy that? https://t.co/oplwnRoDfG
RT @DraftExpress: Why did Paolo Banchero overtake Chet Holmgren for the No. 1 spot in our 2022 mock draft? Here's a little taste of how much his game has evolved in the past year. By the way, he's 6'11, 250 pounds now. Full mock draft and scouting report: https://t.co/X2qjaUYEQi https://t.co/VwQpldrzTo
RT @divafeminist: Her name was #MakiyahBryant. She was 15 years old &called the police for HELP. They killed her. They killed a child who needed protection. Don’t ever talk 2 me bout reform. This system was designed 2 criminalize, brutalize, & kill us A single conviction doesn’t change that. https://t.co/UDI23EOPiA
Ummm yes you douche canoes. Normalize prosecuting bad cops and being more selective in who can become cops...maybe, I don’t know, make it harder to find be one. Clearly the bar is low.
Nolan Smith had a challenging freshman season at Duke, but he has a natty chip now and is a fan favorite. Despite there being a prime example in him guys are just so impatient these days. You should appreciate guys who stick it out for they become the ones most remembered.
The timing was not great on the Coleman decision but the staff had an idea so no blindside. As I said, different times. They will seek some more roster help now. Duke still has a lot to offer some guys. Everybody wants to be a starter these days;)
RT @jeffcapel: This verdict was a big step in accountability and justice for black people in this country. We must continue to press forward and demand true equality for everyone. We must fight to demand change. And we must do everything we can to stop this from happening over and over again!
this is what corruption looks like
As states continue to pass (bipartisan) NIL legislation, the NCAA continues to twiddle its thumbs. The NCAA could have passed sensible NIL rules, but has chosen not to. Why are states passing these laws? Competition. Athletes are valuable assets, and these laws are proof of that.
