Just think how depressing things would be right now if @dmorey, @RafaelStone12 and the rest of the #Rockets basketball ops guys hadn’t gotten at least a LITTLE “cold feet” and slapped that top-4 protection on those picks/swap!
Nope. Under the new lottery rules, the bottom *3* teams all have identical odds of getting each of the top 4 picks. The only difference is where they’d slot OUTSIDE the top-4.
No. Recent changes in the lottery rules increased the number of actual LOTTERY picks from 3 to 4. So they’d actually have to win a lottery pick to keep their own pick. Even going 0-82 would not have guaranteed them keeping their pick. Same is true in 2024 & 2026, without a swap!
Current lottery odds (with the league’s 3rd worst record): 1st: 14.0% 2nd: 13.4% 3rd: 12.7% 4th: 12.0% 5th: 14.8%* 6th: 26.0%* 7th: 7.0%* *lose pick, drop to MIA’s
Once again John Wall says it's frustrating that he, Eric Gordon, and Victor Oladipo don't get calls when you consider how often they drive to the rim. He says he was told by one official the the drive when he got stepped on should've been called an offensive foul
