The Jaguars and Texans debacles have garnered plenty of chatter, but we should also talk about what a tremendous opportunity this presents for the rest of the AFC South. As long as those teams operate this way, the Colts and Titans have a considerably easier road to the playoffs.
Some BIG facts here re: the Supreme Court. I wish I could retweet this 100 times.
Does anyone believe that the field of Black women being considered are unqualified? Are not equally qualified? Are not, based on what we know about how overachieving Black people have to be to even be considered, most qualified?
Was going back through a few old stories, and I have to say... I still think the ability of Frank Reich and Matt Eberflus to make things work after their awkward arranged marriage was pretty cool to see. They actually became quite close: https://t.co/iidRUsNoNl
If #Colts feel like they have a shot to compete in 2022, I think they bring in a veteran DC like Mike Zimmer, knowing he may very well get a HC opportunity after a season or two. Otherwise (& realistically), I’m guessing they promote internally to keep him for a few extra years.
Whatever happens from here, what a remarkable career accomplishment for Eberflus. The path he took - Longtime college DC who shifted to NFL assistant mid-career and worked his way up to a head coaching job - is not the road most traveled.
