As Pitt football returned to the indoor practice facility on the South Side Monday morning, there was a swap in colors with the defense donning the blue practice jerseys indicating that it was the defense that won the first scrimmage of the year.

Pitt head coach Pat Narduzzi took to the podium Monday to detail the team’s first scrimmage of the year that took place on Saturday at Acrisure Stadium.

At the beginning of March, Pitt football was hit with the tragic news and death of Mason Alexander, an early enrollment cornerback who was killed in a car accident back in his hometown of Fishers, Ind.

Following Pitt football’s first scrimmage of spring camp on Saturday, the Panthers returned indoors for practice No. 6 on the South Side.
